A pocket door hides its hardware inside the wall, so when something goes wrong it can feel like a mystery. Most problems come down to a few parts in the overhead track, and they are fixable without tearing out drywall in most cases.
Unlike a sliding glass door, a pocket door hangs from the top. Two roller hangers ride in a metal track in the header above the door, and the door is screwed to brackets on those hangers. A small guide at the floor keeps the bottom from swinging. When a hanger wears out, a bracket loosens, or the track bends, the door drops, comes off the track, or binds inside the wall.

We remove the trim at the head of the opening to get to the track and hangers, which usually avoids opening the wall. From there we replace worn hangers with smooth, ball-bearing rollers, reset the door height, and replace or reinforce the track if needed. We also fit or replace the floor guide and adjust the stops so the pull stays reachable. If something inside the pocket is scraping the door, we track it down.
If the original track is damaged beyond repair or is undersized for a heavy door, we can install a heavier-duty track. Most pocket door repairs are done in a single visit. We handle this repair every week across Orlando, Dr. Phillips, Kissimmee, Winter Park, and the Space Coast, usually with same-day appointments available.
Same-day service available across the Orlando–Cape Canaveral corridor. Free estimate, no obligation.
